Diary of an old cheeser

Hi there! Like other blogs, this is my chance to wax lyrical (some might say talk utter cr*p) about a) what's happening in my life b) all of my pet obsessions in particular music, tv, movies, books and other generally connected things, quite often of the retro, old and "cheesy" variety. Hence the title of my blog. Feel free to leave a comment if the mood takes you. There's nothing like a good chinwag about one's favourite topics and besides I love to meet new people! Cheers, Simon

Back from Braaaaaziiiil !!!

Hey y'all...

I'm back, back, BACK!!

From Brazil that is.

How wonderful to be back in (relatively) cold England and at work.

NOT.

Nah it's not that bad. I feel suitably rested and happy after my break, for sure. The only downside was the horrendously bad journey home during the last couple of days, due to the ineptness of a certain Portuguese airline. Anyway enough about the bad, the holiday itself was muito bom.

Of course I've got lots of things to attend to now, but holiday reports are forthcoming...

Promise.

    Yay! I'm first to comment!!!

Welcome home! ...you know, I've never had as long as a vacation as the one you just had. ...it must really suck to go back to work after that amount of time off!!! ...I once took 8 days off and it made it so hard to go back to normal life!

Sorry the journey back was not easy, but am glad you two are back all safe and sound.

Can't wait for update (and pix?) of your adventures!!!!

    Thanks gents!!

Yes Matty you're right, it's an old cliche but going back to work is hard after a long hols...not to mention the cold UK. England had become a distant memory by the end of my time in Brazil!

    Pix will be forthcoming, yep!

Thanks Steve and sorry to hear about all your recent problems with Mr Chauffeur Man. Perhaps I should send the Daleks round to exterminate him (after you've received payment of course)?!

Looking forward to reading about your trip and seeing all the piccies of you "getting down" on the beech, too! Not to mention, hearing how you got on with the in-laws!!

Cheers for the invite to look at your photos, OC! They're absolutely breath taking - the scenery is just mind blowing. It was really nice having a window onto another world when it's so grey and dreary outside this morning! The stain glass windows were beautiful - and I really liked your costumes! ;-)

    Thanks Deemer, you're welcome.

And thanks Tim! Haven't cracked open the Brazilian coffee yet though I did actually bring some back with me.

As for the in-laws I have met them before, even though I still can't really speak much Portuguese! Funny how you can get a good feeling from people in spite of that.

And thanks for the previous offer of putting me in touch with your Dr Who fan-friend in Rio! Would have been good! Perhaps next time?

Pics are forthcoming, it's taken me ages to get things together this week, I am currently writing a Rio report. You know me and my propensity for words!

Minge - Well oddly enough there may well be some photos of me in my speedos...wait and see.

Salty - Indeed. But I think TAP suck in the wrong kind of way, if you know what I mean...

Steve - Glad you got the link to the photos! And liked the cathedral shots and me in carnival gear! I'll be posting a selection of the best ones on my blog. If anyone wants me to send them the link to the photos, let me know.
