Diary of an old cheeser

Hi there! Like other blogs, this is my chance to wax lyrical (some might say talk utter cr*p) about a) what's happening in my life b) all of my pet obsessions in particular music, tv, movies, books and other generally connected things, quite often of the retro, old and "cheesy" variety. Hence the title of my blog. Feel free to leave a comment if the mood takes you. There's nothing like a good chinwag about one's favourite topics and besides I love to meet new people! Cheers, Simon

.... TO COME BACK!!!

Or should I say...

BACK, BACK, BACK!!!

Watch this space...

I'm excited already!!! Hope you are too!!

Hi Simon, well my daughter is going off the whole Dr Who as she is SUPER disappointed that DT is on his bike. However, we will wait and see 9as they say). I certainly credit DT for helping my girl with her literacy issues. She was so into the programme and the character he created that she made her first REAL attempts to read properly. Being dyslexic this was a horror for her but she persevered and we bought her as many books with him in it as the Dr that we could find. If you see him, give him a kiss from me!as she is now doing so much better at school and her reading skills have improved so much she is currently near the top of her class. Magic indeed.

    Actually yes, you're right Amanda.

I lied completely and utterly about my return....

    Ha ha ha!!

    NOT!!!

No, a return IS on the cards but I am girding my blogging loins, as it were...I'm fixing things up and getting out the spit and polish... call me a perfectionist but it's going to take a wee bit more time to get everything just how I want it...but rest assured, I WILL be back!

And thanks everyone else for your warm wishes.

Amanda (again!) - Interesting that your daughter is going "off" DW because of DT's departure - but I can kind of understand. He's the Dr she grew up so I guess you feel a sense of ownership and that he's "your" Dr. When Matt Smith comes along she'll probably be a bit grumpy and it will take a bit of getting used to a new face - but after a little while she'll soon get used to him and the DT withdrawal pangs will subsist, I bet! (Kind of like the reaction the companions always have when the Doc regenerates!) And that is a very inspiring story about DW books improving her reading skills - excellent!!

Steve - Have responded over on your blog, once things are up and running again here I will write an appropriate response...thank yo so much for the award by the way.
