Hi there! Like other blogs, this is my chance to wax lyrical (some might say talk utter cr*p) about a) what's happening in my life b) all of my pet obsessions in particular music, tv, movies, books and other generally connected things, quite often of the retro, old and "cheesy" variety. I'm a 47 year old Pisces man, but still very much a big kid at heart. I packed in this blogging malarkey once but now I'm back for more - in the words of Banararama, I Can't Help It. Music, movies and tv (usually of the cheesey and retro variety, but not always) are some of my biggest passions and coincidentally, I love to write about these things too, amongst other things. Occasionally I write about real life, but that's another story. So ... thanks for stopping by and hope you ENJOY!!

so, catherine tate made the news here for having the top selling DVD in the UK -- i think it must be her special for comic relief. anyway, i noticed that i can get it with the dr who special she did at discount. hmmmm....
but, would i understand it with no prior dr. who knowledge other than what i've learned from your blog?!?!?

I get the feeling that this new series of Dr Who is going to have a harder edge to it... should be interesting. Although I liked Billie Piper things got a bit too cosy...

T minus nine days and counting! Time the BBC put up some wallpapers for the first episode, don’t you think? The big question must be how well the chemistry will work between David and Freema. To be honest, I’m just relieved Catherine Tate didn’t stay longer than one episode. For me, anyone would be better than her. Even Camille Coduri!! It’s their voices, in nagging mode, that grate. Anyway, fingers crossed for some decent science fiction!!!

The discount buy sounds like a bargain, I'd go for it if I were you! The show isn't that hard to understand, believe me, and armed with all the info you've accumulated from my blog you'd be fine I'm sure...
And what about that friend of yours who was meant to lend you his DVDs? Get on his case!!
Steve - yes, perhaps the new series will have a darker edge, we'll see. I definitely think that Billie went at the right time, the Dr/Rose relationship was getting decidedly smug at times which I found annoying. Nothing wrong with ringing in some changes!
Tim - and now T minus one week and counting!! Yaaay!! We shall see about David and Freema but I have a good vibe about them. There's a Dr-companion kiss in the first episode apparently, I wonder what reason they'll come up with for it this time?
I actually liked Catherine Tate as Donna, despite my initial misgivings, however I'm not sure her character would have had longevity in the show and she did have her limitations.

Yes David T wears a brand new blue suit in the first few episodes - looks pretty funky I think! But he reverts to the brown pinstripe one later on. I don't believe that about Billie - there are way too many rumours flying around!
